Quarantine week 8

We are starting off week eight of quarantine. We are trying to use this time to continue to enjoy your nice spring weather and do some things in the yard. The girls have been helping with rock pick up in the yard with the promise of a new rollerblades if they can fill their buckets with old rocks. I ventured out to Gertens and picked up some flowers and plants and we are getting the yard ready for summer with some planting projects we have been putting off.

The beavers have been busy!

We also have a nice Mother’s Day celebration that included a visit to my parents house with a socially distant walk and bike ride. We also delivered flowers, cards, and gifts to Val, Tracey, and GG. I was spoiled with gifts from the girls and Patrick as well as a special breakfast and dinner. Overall, it was a very nice Mother's Day celebration in quarantine.

Recital (??) Prep

Earlier today I went to pick up the girls dance costumes from their studio. We don’t know what will happen with the dance recital this year but I do know that costume pick up was sad. Normally costume distribution is a fun, exciting time where all the girls try on the costumes and practice their dance together in them. This year we picked up the costumes wearing masks and brought them home to try on by ourselves. The girls had fun trying them on and dancing around and they look adorable, but I can’t help but wonder if we’ll get to see them in those costumes on stage. Here’s to staying optimistic and hopeful...

April wrap up

We have spent the last week or two of April enjoying the nice weather. We’ve been outside as much as we can and they even convince Patrick that we should replace our deck boards. There were a number of boards that need to be replaced so we are swapping out all of them for composite boards. Unfortunately, when we took the old boards off we found that one of the main support beams or the deck needs to be replaced. So our deck replacement is on hold while we wait to get the supports replaced by professionals. The finished product will be revealed in a blog to come!

April Fools!
Our sidewalk art!

This one is for Patrick, I actually like a good

Super sweet friends bring the girls May Day baskets!

Aubrey's trying to keep us fit with her at home workouts and stretches! Follow along if you'd like :)

And my friend had her last chemo treatment (for now) and is kicking cancer's ass! :)

Quarantine week 5

We just wrapped up week 5 of the quarantine. This was a hard week for me because we had a spring snowfall and much lower temperatures that kept us inside more than usual. We made it through though and had some nice weather over the weekend to help with the cabin fever. We’re entering week 6 and are healthy and safe while anxiously awaiting a return to our routine!
