Month of Milestones

This is the time of year that every teacher looks forward to...summer!  Summer school wrapped up last Tuesday and I am enjoying every minute of my time off.  Since the last time I wrote we have had a number of milestone events.
Love  : )
We started off July with Emily's first fourth.  We began the day by celebrating Auntie Katie and Laura's birthday and wrapped it up with a family barbecue at my cousin Michelle's house.  It was a HOT day, but we had a great time in spite of that.  Thanks to Michelle for having a mister at her house to keep us all cool!!

The next weekend I attended my friend Lucy's wedding shower.  We celebrated with brunch and, of course, gifts.  It was a really nice event and Lucy received very nice gifts!  We're now looking forward to the wedding in August and know that it will be another wonderful event.

That same day we also had a birthday party to go to for a one year old.  My friend Stefanie's baby, Abby, was born on July 3, 2011 and we can't believe it's been a year already!  It was a great day, everyone had a really good time.  It's amazing to see how much Abby has changed and grown.  She's crawling at record pace and it's only a short matter of time until she's walking around!

Last weekend I spent my first night away from Emily since she was born.  I took a night for myself and went to Pathfinder Village where my friends Jeremy and Matt have a place.  It was so nice to have some adult time without having a to worry about getting home and waking up early.  I hope to make it up there one more time this year!

Lastly, Emily got her first haircut yesterday.  She had some "unruly" hair on the back and sides of her head that she's had since birth and we finally decided to take care of it.  Even though she's only 7 1/2 months old she needed that haircut and it looks so good!  She no longer has hair flying out in all directions and is looking a little more mature because of it : )
Loving the hair chair!

Doing great!
As long as I can suck on this seatbelt I'm fine!
Post haircut playtime!
No more unruly hair!

That's all for now but as always,
More to come...
