Easter

We had a great day with our families on Easter this year!  First, we prepared at home by dying eggs.  It was Emily's first time and she had lots of fun with it!  We began Easter day with a basket and a mini egg hunt at home followed by a great brunch at the Harrisons and wrapped up the day with dinner at my brother, Greg's house.  We were very lucky to get a chance to see both of our families and were even more lucky that the weather cooperated and gave us a perfect spring day to hunt for some eggs outside!

Tummy or bottom??

Tummy and bottom...both are great ways to go down the "roller coaster slide" in Emily's book!

Zoo trip!

On a chilly spring day but we took a trip to the MN Zoo with uncle Pat and grandma.  We had a fun time but are looking forward to going back when it warms up a little so we can do some outside exploring!

Keeping busy

We have been staying busy this spring with play dates

Nick Universe at MOA with 2 toddlers and a newborn on a
Saturday afternoon is NOT a good idea :)  But they had fun!

trips to the park

 and evening strolls

On the cooler or rainy evenings, we've also had a couple of movie nights!  Current favorite is Frozen.  Emily likes to act out scenes with me and sing songs from the movie!

What's movie night without popcorn??

The weather forecast looks like spring is really here and we plan to continue to make the most of the warmer weather!

Back to reality

Patrick and I were lucky enough to be taken on vacation with Patrick's employer. We spent 5 nights and 6 days in gorgeous Dominican Republic. The weather was perfect every day - 80s and sunny, the water was clear and the drinks were cold!

Unfortunately, when we returned we were greeted by 9 inches of snow. I really didn't want to return to that weather and hope this spring is not like last year but we were anxious to see Emily after a week away from her! Luckily, Emily knows her grandparents well and had no problems staying with grandma and grandpa Harrison. I would even have to say that she would have been fine staying at their house even longer!

At grandma and grandpa's house!

Emily and I hung out at home today, did some shoveling and made our last (fingers crossed!) snowman of the season. We also met Patrick for lunch and are looking ahead to a relaxing weekend!
