First Annual Harrison Hustle

As a part of our Thanksgiving tradition, we have run the Mpls Turkey Trot for many years. The group has been a little different year to year but there's been a Harrison/Mulfort group every year for a decade or more. With the rising cost of the race and the rush in the morning, we decided to do our own run this year. So the Harrison Hustle was born.

We made shirts, plotted a course and compiled awards. The race date and time was set and on a cold Sunday afternoon, we met at the starting line to have a little family fun.

Goodbye Sammy

I've been putting off writing this one. November 18, 2016 was Sammy's last day with us. He had a number of different cancers and his body was no longer able to support him. We said our goodbyes, gave him some of the people food that he dedicated his life to getting and made the decision to let him escape his discomfort.

He was a seeker of food, a hunter of already dead things and a companion like no other. No one would say that Sammy was a well behaved dog but he was our dog. Our dog that we loved very much. He left a void and we're trying to get used to our new life without him.

We were lucky to have him as a part of our family for as long as we did and will not forget the love, friendship and chaos he brought to our lives.

We love and miss you, buddy.

November in a nutshell

This month we have been keeping busy with: dance class, voting, mommy-and-me days, Friendsgiving, Thanksgiving, family photos, gymnastics, mani/pedis, playing in the warm weather, going to shows and saying goodbye to Sammy (more on that later).

We're in the last few days of November and I can't believe that I haven't been updating you along the way but I will try to do better in the new year - December is looking pretty packed already with both Emily and Patrick's birthdays along with Christmas!
