November wrap up

As with most times, the days may be long but the months and years fly by. I fin myself on the eve of December, baffled, that tomorrow is December 1. That means that we are only 2 days away from Emily's EIGHTH birthday. Eight seems like a turning point, she will be closer to 10 years old than 5 years old! November was full of small, memorable, wonderful family moments. Below is a sampling of some of them.

Thanksgiving

This year's Thanksgiving festivities did not disappoint. Karen and her family stayed with us throughout their visit and arrived into town on Wednesday afternoon. I ended up with a snow day so we were home and ready! Thursday morning arrived and we headed to Normandale Lake for the 4th annual Harrison Hustle. Some completed the full 5K and others made it about 2 miles (once around the lake). Patrick's brother, Johnnie, ended up taking first place again.

After the little bit of exercise and fresh air, we got cleaned up and headed over to Tracey's for the first meal of the day. We had a lovely time and Tracey made a delicious meal! From there, we went up to my parent's house for meal number two. Again, we had a nice time and were rolling out by the end of the evening.

Friday brought fun in the snow with the cousins and some bowling in the afternoon.

We continue to be thankful for our health, happiness, and good fortune as well as the health and happiness of our family and friends.

Friendsgiving 2019

This year marked year 12 of Friendsgiving. We started in 2008 with a Turducken and every year Patrick changes up the menu a little. This year he deep fried the turkey! It only took one hour and it was deliciously moist. The rest of the dinner was wonderful as well. Desserts this year included a pumpkin chiffon and French silk pie. Both of which were very tasty. Looking forward to next year already!

First, a look back at the inaugural year
