Christmas

Christmas was extra special this year because my sister and her family were in town. It was the first Christmas that all four cousins were together! We started with our December 23 tradition of dinner and a movie. We went to the movie Sing and to Rojo mexican restaurant for dinner. The movie was cute and dinner was delicious!

The next day we went to Macy's 8th floor display of Santaland. It was the last year for this tradition because Macy's is closing it's downtown location. The kids had fun and we had fun watching the wonderment in the kid's eyes. We went home and opened gifts from each other since Christmas Eve night and Christmas day are so busy. It was a fun time and us and the girls were happy with our gifts. Christmas Eve at the Harrisons was lovely, as usual. We enjoyed a delicious lasagna dinner and opened gifts from one another. We wrapped up the evening with casual conversation enjoying each other's company.

Christmas morning arrived and the Santa visited our house overnight. The girls received the things they asked Santa for: an "art kit" in the form of a tie dye set and "Elmo toys" for Aubrey. We then spent the rest of Christmas Day at my parent's house opening gifts, eating way to much and lounging while the kids played.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night

It was the perfect holiday. We are truly, very blessed.

Patrick is 40!

This birthday was a big one for Patrick, he is now 40! We celebrated with dinner at Revival in Minneapolis, not too far from our old house. The specialize in southern style comfort food so we started with delicious johnny cakes. Patrick chose their signature fried chicken and I went with the burger as that was highly recommended. All of the food was amazing and we hope to make it back.

My gift to Patrick was a day of events and a party. For his special day we went to breakfast at his favorite breakfast place, he got his first facial, we went to Star Wars: Rogue One, to lunch at Manny's for their amazing steak sandwich and Bailey's mousse brownie cake, to the Russian Museum of Art and to happy hour before picking the girls up. We both had a great day and I think the day of adventure just may be Patrick's gift every year!

We also had a party for Patrick's family and friends. It was so nice to celebrate with everyone who came, we are lucky to have you all in our lives!
