March Celebrations

This month we celebrated St. Patrick's Day, Easter and Patrick and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary!

I celebrated St. Patrick's Day with Emily at her preschool by decorating cookies with frosting and green sprinkles. Yum!

Patrick and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary this year! We took the day off to spend time together. We went to breakfast, ran errands and enjoyed a delicious dinner at Burch restaurant. It was a lovely day and I am looking forward to the next 10 years!

Easter came early this year and we enjoyed a full day of family fun. We had brunch at Patrick's grandparent's house and hosted dinner for my brothers and mom. I can't help but think back to last Easter when I was anxiously awaiting Aubrey's arrival. We are looking forward to celebrating her first birthday after we get back from our trip to Chicago to visit Karen, Marcus, William and Benjamin!

Aubrey-11 months

Our baby is 11 months! We can't believe that she will be one year old in less than one month. Aubrey loves walking along furniture, playing with her sister, chatting and laughing. Aubrey has also been taking a few steps on her own over the last few days. She is not, however, a big fan of eating or drinking from a sip cup. We're looking forward to Aubrey's big bash and are hoping for a continuation of the early spring weather that we've been experiencing lately!

The lucky one

I know that I am lucky in love. I am just as happy today (if not more) as I was 10 years ago when Patrick and I got married but events this week confirmed just how lucky I am.

Patrick left for Mexico this morning and will be there until Thursday. He went with work, but it is not a working trip. It's a vacation. One that I would LOVE to be on. Sun, sand, water, warmth, adult time. This sounds like heaven to me right about now but someone has to be with the kids. It's too much to ask family to watch them when everyone still works full time. Despite this, I am the lucky one.

Patrick was at home with the kids last night by himself while I was at a work event until 9:30. In the midst of doing dinner, playtime and bedtime, he did all the laundry. This includes all of the girls clothes, all of the bedding and all of the towels. He also put the house back in order. We had a little work done and the house was a mess (to say the least). When I walked in last night, he had everything back where it belongs. He also went grocery shopping and prepped meals for the week since he knows I don't like cooking. There's even a mystery dinner scheduled to be delivered to us on Monday!

He left me a bouquet of tulips (my favorite flower) and had some gifts delivered on Saturday for all three of us: two books for Emily, a shirt for me and new bath toys for Aubrey.

I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but you get the point. Patrick went WAY beyond expectations to show us he loves us. I couldn't ask for more. Hurry back Patrick, it's not the same here without you.

My funny Valentines

This year Valentine's Day fell on a Sunday so I had all day to spend with my little family. We started the day with gift opening - the most highly anticipated activity for Emily at any event with gifts. Even if they're not for her, she just can't wait to open (or "help" open) those gifts!

We then went to brunch at Granite City thanks to a gift card we've had around for a while. Aubrey is not a great eater, to say the least, but there seemed to be enough action at the restaurant to keep her amused long enough for us to get a couple of plates at the buffet!

We spent the rest of the day hanging out at home and ended the evening with homemade chicken cordon bleu (I make this as a treat a few times a year).

Hope you were able to spend time with your family/friends, too!

Aubrey-10 months

Somehow my baby is 10 months and she's interested in standing and climbing stairs. Yikes! We can't believe that she'll be one year old in less than 2 months!

Little Miss doesn't like sitting for her monthly picture so much anymore :(

Perfect winter weekend

This weekend, in between celebrations for my <gasp> 35th birthday, we enjoyed sledding, snowman building and ice skating. Making the most of this cold weather!

We hope you're making the most of this cold winter weather also!

Working hard...

Or hardly working??
